About the Role

Oversee Robinhood's sanctions framework and regulatory engagements, ensure compliance with EU sanctions regimes including MiFID and MiCA, lead investigations, manage regulatory reporting, supervise screening and onboarding controls, and partner with legal, product, and engineering teams on regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience with MiFID, MiCA, EU sanctions, OFAC, and UN regimes.
  • Experience navigating regulatory divergence across global jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical skills interpreting compliance metrics, screening performance data, and risk indicators.
  • Experience overseeing outsourced functions and global teams against EU service-level agreements.
  • Experience engaging with EU regulatory bodies, including the Bank of Lithuania.
  • Ability to provide practical, risk-based recommendations and support executive decision-making.
  • Clear, authoritative written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across global time zones with flexibility for late afternoon or early evening US-team overlap.

Responsibilities

  • Drive implementation and continuous enhancement of compliance and sanctions frameworks.
  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point and subject matter expert for complex sanctions alerts and investigations.
  • Own regulatory reporting obligations and coordinate external exams, inquiries, and internal audits.
  • Partner with legal, product, and engineering teams to ensure products meet applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain sanctions policies and procedures aligned with EU regulations, UN lists, OFAC, local laws, and global standards.
  • Conduct independent assurance testing on sanctions controls, screening lists, and onboarding flows.
  • Manage asset freezing and mandatory reporting procedures.
  • Oversee screening engines and blockchain analytics tools.
  • Monitor geopolitical developments and sanctions evasion typologies to update screening logic.
