About the Role
Lead the recruitment and development of a collaborative data team while planning core data infrastructure across data warehouses, data lakes, and real-time platforms. Design data models and layered architectures, implement enterprise data governance, optimize platforms including Databricks, AWS, Spark, and Kafka, support cross-functional analytics and dashboards, oversee key data projects, and introduce modern big data and cloud practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of data industry experience and 3+ years managing data teams; crypto, fintech, or payments experience is required.
- Proficiency with Apache Spark, Flink, Kafka, Databricks, and Delta Lake.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing data warehouse and data lake architectures.
- Expertise with AWS services including EC2, S3, Glue, EMR, and Redshift.
- Mastery of dimensional modeling and star or snowflake schemas, with financial or trading data modeling experience.
- Strong Python, Scala, and Java programming skills and ETL development experience.
- Experience implementing enterprise data governance systems.
- Excellent team leadership, project management, business acumen, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Preferred: cloud certification, data middle-platform or data assetization experience, financial or crypto compliance knowledge, Terraform, and Metabase experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead team recruitment, training, performance management, and team development.
- Plan and build data warehouse, data lake, and real-time data platform infrastructure.
- Design data models and layered architectures integrating trading, payment, user, and operations data.
- Build enterprise data governance systems covering quality, security, standards, and lifecycle management.
- Select, construct, and optimize data platforms and tools including Databricks, AWS, Spark, and Kafka.
- Provide cross-departmental data analysis, dashboards, and API support for business growth and risk control.
- Oversee data platform upgrades, integrations, governance implementations, project progress, quality, and cost.
- Track developments in big data, data governance, and cloud technologies and apply industry best practices.
