About the Role
You will maintain the operational integrity of modular data centers by monitoring operations and HVAC performance, performing preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting fiber networks and server hardware, repairing critical failures, documenting procedures, managing contractors and vendors, and participating in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Knowledge of IT systems and network infrastructure
- Knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems
- Understanding of transformers, PLCs, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, STS, ATS, PDUs, chilled water systems, and fire suppression systems
- Experience with data trending and analysis
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices, Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash protection, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations
- Experience with computer and network equipment, HVAC, and electrical infrastructure
- Mission-critical environment experience is a bonus
- CompTIA Network+, BICSI, electrical, or HVAC certifications are a bonus
- Industrial control systems and PLC programming experience is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Monitor data center operations and HVAC performance
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
- Schedule and oversee contractors for deep-service requirements
- Diagnose and repair fiber network infrastructure and server hardware
- Identify and repair data center problems to minimize downtime
- Assist with technical SOP and MOP documentation
- Manage contractor services and infrastructure vendors
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency issues
