About the Role
Design operational computing environments and high-density data center whitespace layouts, integrating power, cooling, capacity planning, structured cabling, and fiber management while maintaining CAD/BIM documentation and enforcing industry standards and building codes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities, or Data Center Engineering
- At least 5+ years of data center design experience
- Experience in cloud-scale or hyperscale environments
- Advanced CAD/BIM skills using AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, or equivalent
- Knowledge of data center power distribution, UPS systems, HVAC and cooling systems, and structured cabling
- Knowledge of TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, and ANSI/BICSI standards
- Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to travel to data center sites
Responsibilities
- Design whitespace layouts, rack placement, and aisle configurations
- Integrate power delivery and cooling systems
- Develop 3D models and capacity planning tools
- Design structured cabling and fiber management systems
- Participate in design reviews and risk assessments
- Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning
- Enforce industry standards and local building codes
- Produce and maintain CAD/BIM drawings and schematics
- Evaluate modular technologies and design methodologies
