About the Role

You will design credit risk policies, procedures, and strategies for retail lending. You will validate underwriting strategies, manage credit limits and risk-based pricing, monitor portfolio performance and credit KPIs, support planning processes, implement operational improvements, and maintain strong credit-risk governance.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field
• Understanding of credit policy governance frameworks and second- and third-line defence
• Knowledge of credit and behavioural scoring models for retail credit products
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• Ability to balance speed to market, problem-solving, and business needs

Responsibilities

• Develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies using NPV frameworks
• Make data-driven marginal decisions
• Manage credit limits, risk-based pricing, retention strategies, and over-limit policies
• Adjust risk-return requirements and portfolio returns as new data emerges
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
• Track, communicate, and draw insights from initiative performance and credit KPIs
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement small-scale changes
• Ensure approval and strong ratings of the first-line credit-risk function from oversight functions and regulators
