About the Role

You will own the finance function and build the accounting foundation. You will run the full accounting cycle, produce accurate financial statements and board reporting, and maintain month, quarter, and year-end close. You will design and document internal controls, approval workflows, and segregation of duties to keep accounting audit-ready and GAAP-compliant. You will manage tax compliance, cash flow forecasting, bank accounts, and equity issuance processes (including 409A). You will partner with leadership on modeling, budgeting, scenario and variance analysis, lead diligence for fundraises, and support audits. You will configure and evolve the finance technology stack and integrate AI to automate processes and increase accuracy.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of finance and accounting experience
• Public accounting experience (Big 4 or mid‑tier) and in-house startup or high‑growth experience
• CPA strongly preferred or equivalent track record
• Experience running a finance or accounting function largely solo
• Daily practical experience using AI tools to increase output and automation
• Builder mentality with experience establishing systems and processes
• Proactive self-accountable approach to surfacing risks and driving best practices
• Based in or willing to relocate to New York and able to work on site
