About the Role
You will receive and communicate emergency and non-emergency assistance requests in the Laboratory Emergency Response Center. You will operate telephone, radio, alarm, and computer systems; dispatch resources; monitor responders; provide telephone medical assistance; issue visitor badges; and maintain required forms and logs while working rotating shifts.
Requirements
- AA/AS degree or certifications in Public Safety Telecommunicator, Fire Service Communicator, and Emergency Medical Dispatcher
- At least five years of customer service or call center experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Energy clearance
- Pass a pre-placement drug test and participate in ongoing random drug testing
Responsibilities
- Operate a multi-line telephone system for emergency and non-emergency calls
- Operate and monitor facility safety, fire, radiation, and utility alarm systems
- Communicate through multiple radio transmitters and receivers
- Obtain accurate information from callers
- Determine call types and dispatch appropriate resources
- Monitor responder locations, status, and needs
- Provide emergency medical assistance by telephone
- Update and dispatch information using computer resources
- Make emergency notifications and initiate protective actions
- Issue badges and assist with site access
- Maintain required forms and logs
