About the Role
You will strengthen the U.S. compliance program, manage consumer protection regulations and processes, maintain risk assessments, and ensure sanctions screening controls operate effectively. You will develop self-testing programs, monitor regulatory developments, support audits, improve policies, oversee compliance analysts, track alert queues, review work quality, and monitor remediation and training adherence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 7 years of experience in related compliance roles in FinTech, payment systems, or crypto
- Previous Money Services Business experience preferred
- Compliance or AML background preferred
- Deep understanding of consumer deposit, lending, and credit compliance requirements
- Familiarity with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Reg E, data privacy, governance, and consumer protection legislation
- Familiarity with state licensing regimes and application and maintenance processes
- Strong risk management experience
- Strategic, data-driven, and analytical approach to problem-solving
- Ability to deliver results in a highly cross-functional global organization
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-moving startup environment
Responsibilities
- Support implementation of the U.S. compliance regime
- Support compliance with banking partners
- Maintain and update the annual consumer risk assessment
- Manage adherence to consumer protection regulations
- Manage complaints, negative balances, unclaimed property, chargebacks, refunds, and elder financial abuse processes
- Ensure sanctions screening policies, procedures, and tools operate effectively
- Update policies, procedures, and guidance for data privacy, consumer protection, and fraud prevention
- Develop product knowledge to implement regulatory enhancements
- Create and implement a compliance self-testing program
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders on compliant solutions
- Respond to internal and external audit requests
- Monitor regulatory and business developments and revise policies as needed
- Supervise, manage, and grow the Compliance analyst team
- Evaluate compliance controls and recommend enhancements
- Track transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, sanctions, and alert queues
- Conduct quality control reviews of analyst work
- Evaluate self-testing results and monitor remediation
- Track compliance training adherence and reporting
