About the Role
You will support component selection, evaluation and qualification for new product introduction and volume manufacturing. You will manage specifications, approved lists and bill-of-material revisions, identify component risks and alternatives, and assess enabling technologies. You may travel to supplier sites.
Requirements
- Electronics knowledge, including component parameters, datasheets and component selection
- Knowledge of bill-of-material management and component-sourcing systems such as Arena and Silicon Expert
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and SMT assembly processes
- Ability to understand silicon, package and PCB-design dependencies
- Experience working with electronics suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Electronic Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Mandarin Chinese communication ability
Responsibilities
- Select, evaluate and qualify electronic components
- Support new product introduction and volume manufacturing
- Manage component specifications, approved lists and bill-of-material revisions
- Identify component risks and develop practical alternatives
- Assess enabling component technologies for future products
- Work with manufacturing, test, quality, supply-chain, supplier and manufacturing partners
- Travel to supplier sites as required
