About the Role

You will architect and deliver the core data platform and consumer application architecture. You will make foundational infrastructure decisions, establish engineering standards, hire and develop engineers, and ensure security, compliance, and data governance capabilities are production-ready.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• At least 3 years as the senior-most technical leader at a startup, data-intelligence company, fintech, or media-intelligence business
• Experience personally architecting and shipping a data platform that powered a revenue product
• Expertise with BigQuery or Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran or Airbyte, Airflow or Dagster, and Looker, Hex, or Metabase
• Experience hiring and growing senior individual contributors in a small, high-trust environment
• Ability to make product, commercial, and technical trade-offs
• Bitcoin literacy or curiosity about Bitcoin, the Bitcoin treasury thesis, and the Lightning/x402 stack
• Preferred experience building consumer mobile products, agent-facing APIs, or research and intelligence data products at production scale

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture for the data warehouse, ingestion pipelines, identity resolution, and unified data model
• Make infrastructure decisions covering ETL tooling, dbt structure, the BI layer, orchestration, and data governance
• Sequence platform delivery to ship a working unified dataset within the first few months
• Define data capture, identity flow, enrichment, and user-facing data flows between the consumer application and data platform
• Partner on the consumer surface and event credentialing
• Ensure event credentialing is production-grade for tens of thousands of users
• Hire and develop the engineering team
• Establish code review, on-call, observability, technical writing, and engineering quality standards
• Interview and raise the bar for engineering hires
• Set and enforce company-wide engineering standards
• Communicate technical constraints to leadership and incorporate commercial constraints into engineering planning
• Establish SOC 2 readiness for enterprise-grade products
• Own GDPR, consent tiering, and right-to-erasure capabilities
• Make vendor and tooling decisions that support auditability and scale
• Architect future IT infrastructure and steward organization-wide technical philosophies
