About the Role
You will study biological systems and develop quantitative performance models, scaling laws, engineering specifications, and benchmarks for humanoid robotics. You will design experiments, analyze performance gaps between robots and biological systems, and provide practical constraints and opportunities for hardware and software design.
Requirements
- PhD in Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field
- 5+ years of experience
- Expertise in modeling, quantitative analysis, or engineering applications of biomechanics
- Experience in robotics, controls, materials, mechanical systems, or related engineering disciplines
- Experience with test design, instrumentation, data collection, and analysis
Responsibilities
- Develop quantitative models of human-level locomotion, manipulation, sensing, and physical interaction
- Establish engineering specifications and benchmarks from biological systems
- Design and execute experiments on biological performance and adaptation
- Identify performance gaps between robotic and biological systems
- Translate biological insights into engineering constraints and opportunities
