About the Role
You will reconcile metering data with invoices, investigate discrepancies, maintain consumption-pricing models, calculate service credits, and monitor billing data quality. You will build recurring checks and dashboards, support billing disputes with usage evidence, and work with engineering, finance, and customer-facing teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of billing operations, revenue operations, or financial-analysis experience in a usage-metered business.
- Experience with consumption-based pricing.
- SQL skills for usage and billing data.
- Data-warehouse experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Experience with a usage-based or subscription billing platform such as Stripe Billing, Zuora, Chargebee, Metronome, or Orb.
- Knowledge of GPU and compute-based pricing.
- Ability to translate SLA terms into credit calculations.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills.
- Basic Python or similar scripting skills.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile metering data against billed line items each billing cycle.
- Investigate usage and invoice variances.
- Document root causes and drive fixes for recurring discrepancies.
- Maintain consumption-based pricing models.
- Model the revenue impact of pricing changes.
- Validate billing configuration against commercial commitments.
- Calculate and issue service credits for infrastructure failures.
- Develop auditable credit-calculation methods.
- Monitor metering and billing pipelines for anomalies.
- Build recurring checks and dashboards.
- Support customer billing disputes with usage evidence.
- Turn recurring disputes into improvements to pricing, invoices, or metering.
