About the Role
You will train to operate the Bulk Electric System safely, reliably, economically, and responsibly. You will assist authorized field switching operations, monitor system conditions, communicate corrective-action recommendations, support emergency actions, exchange operational information with interconnected utilities, and follow reliability standards and regulatory procedures in a 24/7 environment.
Requirements
- Associate degree with relevant coursework or equivalent education, training, military experience, and related experience
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work all System Operations shifts in a 24/7 environment
- Ability to obtain NERC Certification within six months of hire
- Successful completion of the EEI System Operator/Power Dispatch assessment
Responsibilities
- Participate in training for Bulk Electric System operations
- Assist authorized personnel with field switching operations
- Support actions that protect transmission-system integrity during emergency operating conditions
- Collaborate with operations leadership and interconnected utilities to maintain reliable operations
- Monitor system conditions and communicate recommendations for corrective action
- Support compliance with operational procedures, reliability standards, and regulatory requirements
