About the Role
You will operate, maintain, switch, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and test medium-voltage plant electrical equipment. You will support plant startups, shutdowns, outages, commissioning, failure investigations, documentation, and safe energized work practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience as an electrical technician, industrial electrician, or similar role maintaining industrial or power-generation electrical systems
- Ability to work on-site at the power-generation facility
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and rotating or on-call schedules
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain generators, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, motors, VFDs, UPS units, transfer switches, and emergency equipment
- Execute switching, isolation, lockout/tagout, breaker racking, and equipment restoration
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using one-line diagrams, schematics, and test equipment
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, inspections, and repairs
- Support startups, shutdowns, outages, and commissioning activities
- Install, terminate, and maintain electrical equipment, cable, and control wiring
- Respond to alarms, trips, and equipment failures and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate switching, clearances, and electrical work with operations, engineering, and utility personnel
- Maintain work orders, switching records, and equipment documentation
- Follow safety, lockout/tagout, arc-flash, and PPE requirements
