About the Role

You will supervise shift personnel and power plant operations producing steam and electricity. You will protect people and equipment, monitor operations and maintenance, ensure safety and environmental compliance, inspect equipment, manage records and inventories, investigate incidents, oversee training, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, communicate in English, and perform mathematical calculations
• Four years of power plant or control room experience, or equivalent education and experience
• At least two years of supervisory experience
• Qualification as a Shift Supervisor and Control Room Operator at the facility
• Knowledge of power plant equipment, physics, mathematics, electrical theory, heat transfer, fluid flow, thermodynamics, chemistry, and metallurgy
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and technical information
• Knowledge of power plant safety
• Proficiency with Windows-based applications
• Knowledge of power tools, rigging techniques, and heavy equipment operation and maintenance
• Valid driver license
• Participation in a post-offer physical examination and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe power plant operations and personnel safety
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits, regulations, laws, and company policies
• Directly supervise plant operations personnel
• Plan, coordinate, supervise, monitor, and control shift operations
• Inspect equipment and ensure adherence to safety rules and plant procedures
• Inspect MSHA-regulated areas during each shift
• Review operating logs and correct deficiencies
• Maintain reports on downtime, outages, repairs, production, and performance
• Test plant systems and components and interpret operational data
• Investigate plant problems, incidents, accidents, and unusual events
• Monitor consumable inventories and initiate replenishment
• Verify equipment switching and tagging procedures
• Manage housekeeping standards and corrective actions
• Write, review, and revise operating procedures
• Supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
• Support operations training and training materials
• Maintain operational records and administrative documents
• Communicate shift operations status to the O&M Manager
• Supervise material handling operations
