About the Role
You'll join Tovala's food production team, working in food preparation and packing operations. You'll portion and package food products, prepare packaging inventory, and perform duties on the packing line to assemble meals for shipping to customers. The work takes place in a cold production facility (39 degrees F) and requires standing 8+ hours daily.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous food or other manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions
- Ability to weigh, measure, or otherwise portion food
- Basic arithmetic
- Standing and/or walking up to 8+ hours per day in a cold environment (39 degrees F)
- Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds frequently
- Use of hands and fingers for fine manipulation
- Vision for machine operation and food handling
- Hearing
- Wear personal protective equipment for food safety
Responsibilities
- Portion veggies, grains, spices, and sauces into small plastic bags or corresponding containers
- Inspect food products for quality
- Make small cardboard boxes
- Pack products into boxes
- Insulate shipping boxes
- Label finished products for shipping
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work with the team to meet daily production goals
