About the Role
You will lead and grow an application-security team while remaining close to technical work. You will formalize AppSec strategy and roadmaps, engage on threat models and security architecture, define operating rhythms, and partner across engineering and leadership. You will advance security for AI-assisted development and represent AppSec with customers, auditors, and compliance programmes.
Requirements
- Have an application security engineering background
- Have hands-on experience with threat modelling, secure design review, SAST, SCA, vulnerability management, or security automation
- Be comfortable with Python and JavaScript
- Have cloud infrastructure experience with AWS or GCP
- Know GitHub Actions
- Have people management experience with security engineers
- Have led or significantly contributed to an AppSec programme in a fast-growing SaaS or AI company
- Understand AI-native security engineering and agentic tools
- Embed security as a collaborative engineering partner
Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and grow the AppSec team
- Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development
- Formalize AppSec strategy and roadmap
- Engage on threat models, security architecture, agentic tooling, and risk decisions
- Define OKRs, quarterly planning, cross-team coordination, and stakeholder communication
- Embed security across engineering practices
- Maintain and evolve security for AI-assisted development
- Align AppSec with other Infosec teams
- Represent AppSec with customers, auditors, and compliance programmes
