About the Role
Lead AI Engineering at Hex by applying frontier AI techniques, collaborating with product and engineering, building a world-class AI engineering team, supporting developer and research experience, and delivering high-performing shared AI infrastructure.
Requirements
- 4+ years of people management experience and experience leading high-performing teams.
- Deep familiarity with modern AI and classical machine learning, including LLMs, transformer models, agentic workflows, context management, and agentic evaluations.
- Commitment to driving business outcomes and customer value.
- Rigorous yet pragmatic approach to experimental design and early-stage agility.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to attract and retain exceptional AI talent.
Responsibilities
- Stay current with AI technology and work with engineering teams to advance product capabilities.
- Define and implement the AI Engineering function as Hex scales.
- Hire and mentor an exceptional team of AI Engineers.
- Support developer and research experiences for teams working with AI technology.
- Deliver shared AI infrastructure, including search systems.
