About the Role
You will advise nonprofit grantees on identifying, implementing, and scaling AI use cases. You will prototype integrations and lightweight production systems, assess technical assumptions, develop reusable deployment tools, and translate deployment lessons into practical guidance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, or JavaScript
- Experience with AI or LLM tools, data infrastructure, evaluations, or agent harnesses
- Ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently
Responsibilities
- Partner with nonprofit grantees to identify and deploy practical AI use cases
- Advise on tool selection, architecture, workflow redesign, evaluation, safety, data handling, and change management
- Build demonstrations, reference implementations, integrations, and lightweight production systems
- Pressure-test technical assumptions during grant design and due diligence
- Develop reusable tools for responsible AI deployment
- Synthesize deployment insights into product, tooling, and grantmaking feedback
- Build trusted relationships across the nonprofit and philanthropy ecosystem
