About the Role
You will own aircraft flight performance, endurance, and mass-property models. You will evaluate design and payload changes, analyze flight and test data, plan flight-test campaigns, validate operational envelopes, and drive corrective actions for performance issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of aerospace or defense industry experience.
- Knowledge of fixed-wing flight dynamics, aircraft performance, and aerodynamic and propulsion fundamentals.
- Ability to analyze large data sets using Python, MATLAB, or equivalent tools.
- Experience developing or maintaining aircraft weight and center-of-gravity models.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop endurance, range, loiter, and cruise performance calculations.
- Own aircraft weight and center-of-gravity models, budgets, and reporting.
- Create and maintain aerodynamic and propulsion models.
- Assess aerodynamic and weight impacts of design changes.
- Evaluate payload configurations and estimate performance.
- Plan and lead flight-test campaigns.
- Analyze performance anomalies and drive corrective actions.
- Analyze flight and test data to define operational envelopes and specifications.
