About Arbol
Arbol was founded in 2018 to change how climate risk is actively managed throughout the financial system. The company provides parametric insurance and derivatives products that pay out automatically when predefined weather triggers (such as rainfall, temperature, wind speed, or fire perimeters) are met, rather than relying on traditional claims assessment. Its ecosystem combines an expansive data infrastructure sourced from NOAA, NASA, ECMWF, and the European Space Agency, an AI/ML underwriter, a technology platform for brokers and agents, and flexible dedicated risk capital. Arbol's solutions span agriculture, energy, travel, wildfire, and reinsurance, and it also operates Arbol Insurance, an underwriting and brokerage firm focused on hard-to-place weather risks. The company has transferred over $2 billion in notional risk and serves clients including small farmers, large corporations, and insurers like Centauri Insurance and Singlife, with roughly half of its clients otherwise lacking access to climate risk products.
