Public provides brokerage, investment advisory, and retirement account services in one platform for individual investors seeking consolidated access to multiple asset classes. Users can automate trading strategies using AI-powered agents, build custom index portfolios through Generated Assets, and earn rebates on options contracts. The platform does not participate in payment for order flow on equity trades, and all brokerage services operate under FINRA and SIPC oversight.

About the Role
You will own core accounting operations, manage the month-end close and financial reporting, and oversee day-to-day accounting with a focus on scalability and automation. You will support the year-end audit and work directly with external auditors, design and document internal controls, partner on special projects and ad-hoc reporting, and identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred or in progress)
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or high-growth startup experience preferred)
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience managing or supporting month-end close processes
- Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus)
- Exposure to audit processes and working with external auditors
- Experience improving or building accounting processes, controls, or automation
- Fintech or other high-growth industry experience is a bonus
