About the Role
You will divide your time between collaborative Ai2 and UW projects and your independent research agenda. You will investigate robot foundation models, manipulation and skill learning, scalable simulation, sim-to-real transfer, and open-source methods, datasets, benchmarks, and tools.
Requirements
- PhD completed or expected within one year
- PhD-level foundation in one or more listed robotics research areas
- Strong foundation in robotics, manipulation, simulated-environment training, sim-to-real transfer, robot foundation models, or skill learning
Responsibilities
- Conduct collaborative work on Ai2 and UW projects
- Pursue an independent research agenda
- Investigate robot foundation models and their scaling and generalization properties
- Develop agents for manipulation, instruction following, and skill learning
- Build and use scalable GPU-accelerated simulation environments
- Develop pipelines that transfer learned policies to real-world robots
- Contribute to open methods, datasets, benchmarks, and tools
