About the Role
You will support permitting, environmental review, land-use entitlement, and agency coordination for renewable energy projects. You will conduct site evaluations and due diligence, coordinate technical studies and consultants, track schedules and budgets, prepare compliance documentation, and help identify project risks and mitigation strategies. You may work remotely or from an AES office location.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an environmental, planning, natural resources, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Approximately 2+ years of permitting, environmental compliance, consulting, project development, land-use planning, or natural resources experience
- Familiarity with environmental permitting, environmental review, land-use regulations, or renewable energy development
- Project coordination and organizational skills
- Written, verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Google Earth or mapping-tool proficiency
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary site evaluations, due diligence reviews, and constraint analyses
- Support permitting for wind, solar, energy storage, and renewable energy projects
- Coordinate technical studies and environmental assessments with internal teams and consultants
- Track project schedules, deliverables, and budgets
- Prepare project documentation and compliance packages for construction and operations handoff
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders, officials, agencies, and external partners
- Support cost optimization, vendor management, and invoice review
- Identify project risks and support mitigation strategies
- Maintain project records, permit-tracking tools, and documentation systems
