About the Role

You will develop robotic welding procedures and run parameter-selection experiments. You will conduct welding and systems experiments, develop trajectory-generation rules with robotics engineers, fabricate test coupons, operate robotic welding cells, and work directly with customers during travel.

Requirements

• 3+ years developing robotic welding procedures in an industrial environment
• Proficiency with industrial robotics platforms including Yaskawa, ABB, Kuka, or Fanuc
• Experience developing fusion-based weld parameters for carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Proficiency with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SMAW manual welding processes
• Understanding of weld symbology and print interpretation
• Experience with Design of Experiment principles
• Ability to travel 30%–50%

Responsibilities

• Run weld parameter-selection experiments for customer applications
• Develop rules for automating robot and workpiece trajectory generation
• Perform robotic welding experiments for sensors, inspection systems, path planning, welding strategies, and hardware
• Fabricate test coupons for feasibility testing and in-house experiments
• Travel to work directly with customers
• Operate an AI-powered robotic welding cell
• Manually weld coupons and test parts
• Use powered shop tools to cut and etch weld samples
