About the Role

You will serve as the senior legal and compliance leader for the Americas, owning licensing strategy, compliance programs, and regulatory relationships. You will set direction for regional compliance, manage local MLROs and heads of compliance, drive licensing and registration milestones, respond to examinations and inquiries, supervise KYB/KYC and EDD processes, and improve automation, metrics, and controls. You will travel to regulatory bodies, engage directly with regulators, and maintain availability during core U.S. Eastern Time hours.

Requirements

• J.D. or equivalent legal degree; active bar membership preferred
• 10+ years progressive experience in legal compliance or regulatory roles
• Proven experience owning licensing and registration processes across multiple jurisdictions
• Deep knowledge of AML BSA regulations and MSB requirements
• Experience managing MLROs or local compliance officers across distributed teams
• Demonstrated ability to design and operate risk-based compliance programs
• Experience with KYB KYC EDD and customer risk profiling
• Experience with compliance outsourcing and vendor management
• Strong executive presence and ability to engage with regulators and senior leadership
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Comfortable working remotely and maintaining availability during U.S. Eastern Time hours

Responsibilities

• Own and lead licensing and registration strategy across the Americas
• Drive achievement of licenses registrations and regulatory approvals
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and licensing authorities
• Engage directly in examinations inquiries and supervisory meetings
• Translate evolving regulatory developments into actionable strategy
• Design implement and continuously improve risk-based compliance programs
• Oversee and manage MLROs heads of compliance and compliance staff
• Ensure compliance outsourcing and vendor management requirements are met
• Supervise onboarding including KYB KYC documentation review and customer risk profiling
• Oversee initial periodic and annual customer reviews and apply EDD
• Review consumer disclosures user interfaces and marketing for compliance
• Support automation of compliance functionality and identify process improvements
• Develop and maintain tracking logs metrics and reporting frameworks
• Maintain AML BSA controls and identify anomalies escalations
