About the Role
You will help conduct due diligence for investments in startups, playing a key role in presenting findings to angel investors, venture capitalists, and high-net worth individuals through high quality written reports. You will work directly with investment targets to complete a thorough due diligence process, reviewing business plans and pitch decks, assessing market and company attractiveness, and writing comprehensive research reports about investment opportunities.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of financing and accounting
- Familiarity with the investment due diligence process
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with limited supervision
- Strong writing and grammar skills
- A due diligence writing sample will be requested
Responsibilities
- Read and review business plans and pitch decks
- Assess market and company attractiveness to identify compelling businesses
- Conduct due diligence on new investments including business analysis, industry theses, competitive landscape, business/pricing model, and data collection
- Write comprehensive research reports about investment opportunities
- Mine data sources for relevant information
- Conduct startup analysis and market/vertical research
- Research startup competition
- Analyze each startup's investor documents and capital raise details
- Stay current on tech industry trends
- Review and understand investor documents and other capital raise details
- Construct accurately detailed summaries of the startup's business model
- Find accurate information from reputable sources
- Monitor the venture capital and tech startup landscape
