About the Role
You will build macroeconomic models and scenario-based forecasting tools for transformative AI. You will ground projections in microeconomic signals, analyze growth, labor markets, income distribution, and economic governance, develop AI-powered research tools, publish research, and engage with academic and policy partners.
Requirements
- PhD in Economics or exceptional candidate close to completion
- Background in macroeconomics, growth theory, or public finance
- Research record addressing transformative AI
- Macroeconomic modeling and structural estimation experience
- Scenario-based and time-series forecasting experience
- Task-based technological-change knowledge
- Computational economics proficiency
- Python, Julia, or similar programming proficiency
- AI coding agent experience
- Research project leadership
- Technical communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience
Responsibilities
- Build macroeconomic models of transformative AI
- Develop and maintain scenario-based forecasting tools
- Publish forecasts for GDP, productivity, and unemployment
- Ground projections in microeconomic data from the Anthropic Economic Index
- Analyze income distribution and economic governance
- Develop AI-powered economics research tools
- Contribute to Economic Index Reports and Research Briefs
- Build relationships with academic institutions, think tanks, and research partners
- Publish research and policy briefs and present findings to stakeholders
