About the Role
Act as an Operations Engineer responsible for the stability, performance, and scalability of proprietary trading systems and supporting infrastructure in Hong Kong. Collaborate with traders, developers, and infrastructure teams to maintain peak efficiency across global markets.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Trading Operations, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering within a proprietary trading or HFT environment
- Deep expertise in Unix/Linux systems and latency-sensitive production environments
- Strong Python programming and scripting skills; Go, Bash, or C++ are a plus
- Understanding of TCP/IP, multicast, routing, DNS, and network packet analysis
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker in production
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Working knowledge of database systems
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP
- Familiarity with Terraform and Ansible
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in distributed, high-performance systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Self-driven mindset with ability to mentor junior team members
Responsibilities
- Respond quickly to technical issues affecting in-house trading applications
- Optimize infrastructure for business needs
- Maintain and configure trading infrastructure using project- and change-management tools
- Analyze and enhance exchange connectivity
- Investigate latency issues and bottlenecks
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve latency issues and improve system efficiency
- Monitor and document trading applications and IT infrastructure
- Collaborate with developers to design improved in-house applications
