About the Role

You will lead the design, optimization, validation, and documentation of direct-to-chip cold plate modules and thermal management systems. You will develop water-cooling solutions, run liquid thermal simulations, select thermal interface materials, and work with engineering teams and vendors to integrate reliable cooling systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of thermal and mechanical engineering experience focused on water cooling and advanced thermal management
  • Mechanical design expertise
  • Experience designing and managing direct-to-processor cooling systems and thermal simulations
  • Experience with cold plate designs, water-cooling systems, internal manifolds, quick disconnects, coolant distribution units, and heat exchangers
  • Proficiency in mechanical tolerances, mechanical drawings, and GD&T
  • Proficiency with NX, Creo, CATIA, or similar mechanical CAD tools
  • Knowledge of DFM and DFA principles
  • Proficiency with Fluent and thermal simulation techniques
  • Knowledge of thermal interface materials and heat-sink designs
  • Experience with advanced thermal cooling technologies

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and optimization of direct-to-chip cold plate modules
  • Lead thermal management system design for high-performance data center products
  • Develop water-cooling solutions including manifolds, quick disconnects, coolant distribution units, and heat exchangers
  • Run liquid thermal simulations to analyze heat-exchanger performance
  • Design, fabricate, and assemble cold plates
  • Evaluate and optimize thermal interface materials
  • Implement advanced cooling concepts including phase-change and liquid cooling
  • Oversee thermal system testing and validation
  • Create design specifications, simulation results, testing reports, and performance documentation
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineers, electrical systems engineers, and vendors
