About the Role
You will lead global systems administration, lab operations, and technical-services teams. You will oversee engineering labs, HPC platforms, and data-center environments, set service standards, plan capacity and budgets, manage procurement and suppliers, and deliver infrastructure programs. You will maintain security, safety, reliability, and compliance while reporting infrastructure health and risks to executives.
Requirements
- Significant leadership experience in technical infrastructure, engineering labs, systems engineering, HPC, IT operations, or data-center services
- Experience leading geographically distributed technical teams, including managers and senior individual contributors
- Knowledge of HPC and data-center environments, including server architecture, Linux systems, accelerators, interconnects, storage, cluster management, workload scheduling, and monitoring
- Experience supporting semiconductor development, silicon bring-up, hardware validation, systems engineering, or similar environments
- Experience developing multi-site infrastructure strategy, capacity plans, lifecycle programs, and operating models
- Experience operating business-critical compute and lab infrastructure
- Experience leading cross-functional programs with Engineering, Facilities, IT, Finance, Security, Supply Chain, and vendors
- Procurement and commercial experience
- Experience developing global infrastructure budgets, cost models, forecasts, investment proposals, and lifecycle plans
- Knowledge of rack integration, cabling, power, cooling, physical security, capacity management, operational controls, and compliance frameworks
- Ability to work onsite in Austin and travel internationally
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Lead, recruit, mentor, and develop systems administration, lab operations, and technical services teams
- Own the reliability, efficiency, protection, safety, supportability, and improvement of labs, HPC systems, and infrastructure facilities
- Establish service levels, operating standards, escalation paths, monitoring, automation, ticketing, and configuration-management practices
- Develop infrastructure roadmaps, capacity plans, procurement strategies, and investment programs
- Forecast compute, storage, network, power, cooling, and support requirements
- Lead global infrastructure programs through procurement, deployment, operational readiness, expansion, refresh, and decommissioning
- Own infrastructure procurement and supplier performance
- Develop operating budgets, capital plans, projections, lifecycle plans, and investment proposals
- Build relationships with vendors, colocation providers, integrators, and maintenance partners
- Maintain security, safety, operational, and compliance controls
- Report infrastructure health, capacity, risks, budgets, and supplier performance to executives
