About the Role
Own technical accounting research and conclusions for new products, strategic transactions, and novel or judgmental fact patterns. Research U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance, draft position papers and memos, evaluate crypto and digital assets, and advise on revenue recognition, consolidation, VIEs, and derivatives while partnering cross-functionally.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in a technical accounting role
- Public accounting experience
- Big 4 or national firm experience preferred
- Experience designing, implementing, and documenting technical accounting policies and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Ability to research accounting literature, establish accounting positions, and develop implementation procedures
- Ability to interpret complex technical guidance and present accounting positions in writing and verbally
- Experience at a crypto company is a plus
Responsibilities
- Own technical accounting research and conclusions for new products, strategic transactions, and novel or judgmental fact patterns
- Research relevant U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance
- Draft clear, well-supported position papers and memos
- Partner with Product and Deal teams to identify accounting implications and shape deal and product terms
- Evaluate emerging areas such as crypto, digital assets, and new revenue arrangements
- Apply sound judgment to reach and document defensible accounting conclusions
- Collaborate with Legal, Tax, Finance, Financial Reporting, and other teams
- Ensure accounting conclusions are integrated across financial statements, disclosures, and controls
- Advise on ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Advise on ASC 350-60 digital assets
- Advise on ASC 810 consolidation and VIE evaluation
- Advise on ASC 815 derivatives
