ARQ serves travelers, investors, and professionals across Latin America who need access to global currencies and financial markets. Users can hold digital dollars and euros, receive and send international payments via dedicated US and European account details, invest in US stocks and ETFs, and spend globally with a card at market conversion rates. The platform is available across Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil.

About the Role
You'll design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems that power innovative fintech products. You'll focus on greenfield development and improving existing systems, building REST APIs and engineering microservices, and evolving systems that the business depends on such as card payments, treasury management, transactions booking, and crypto liquidity. You'll work predominantly with Java 25 on the backend with a Postgres database, using Spring Boot for quick and quality delivery. You'll take a pragmatic approach to business logic, focusing on clean code with an emphasis on maintainability and fast turnaround using TDD, DDD, and continuous integration and delivery.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in Backend development, with fluency in Java
- Bachelor's Degree (or above) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other Engineering / Science disciplines
- Quick learner with an ambitious and results driven personality, with excellent communication skills (english fluency, verbal and written)
- Track record of building complex products that millions of people use in hypergrowth startups
