About the Role
You will serve as the founding technical leader for People Technology, owning a suite of eight internal HR applications. You will set technical direction and roadmaps, work directly with HR stakeholders, assess and modernize applications, write production code, establish support processes, and help define and hire the second engineering role.
Requirements
- Full-stack engineering experience with Python, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL
- Ability to own and drive multiple applications end-to-end from roadmap through delivery and support
- Experience partnering with non-technical business stakeholders
- Ability to operate autonomously in a founding role
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and roadmap for eight HR-adjacent applications
- Partner with HR stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Assess applications for technical debt, modernization opportunities, support burden, and engineering-standard alignment
- Validate the staffing model and partner with leadership to define and fill the second engineering role
- Write and ship production code across Python, TypeScript, React, Ruby, FastAPI, Flask, Next.js, and PostgreSQL
- Formalize support processes, stakeholder communication channels, and operational workflows
