About the Role
You will plan, integrate, execute, and analyze rocket motor tests. You will develop test procedures, prepare test hardware and facilities, coordinate instrumentation and data acquisition, lead readiness reviews, troubleshoot integration issues, analyze test data, and support verification software and mentoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related STEM field
- 4–7 years of aerospace or defense test engineering experience
- Rocket motor integration, subsystem verification, and hot-fire test campaign experience
- Knowledge of MIL-STD, test safety, and propulsion qualification and acceptance testing
- HWIL and SWIL experience
- Test software development, automation, hardware integration, troubleshooting, and data analysis experience
- Instrumentation and data acquisition system expertise
- Knowledge of RS-422, RS-485, and CAN
- Programming experience in C, C++, MATLAB, Python, and Simulink
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Clearance
- Willingness to travel to test facilities
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and requirements
- Lead propulsion, avionics, and control-system integration and checkout
- Coordinate instrumentation wiring, sensor calibration, control-system verification, and DAQ integration
- Configure test facilities and support equipment for hot-fire testing
- Lead Test Readiness Reviews
- Analyze test data and recommend anomaly resolutions and system improvements
- Support test software development, HWIL, and SWIL
- Lead small test teams and contribute to technical documentation and reviews
