About the Role

You will develop models, control algorithms, and simulation architectures for propulsion, flight-control, and guidance subsystems. You will assess system performance, validate models with test data, perform trade studies, document technical work, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related STEM field
  • 4–7 years of experience in modeling, simulation, control systems, or estimation algorithm development in aerospace or defense
  • Dynamic system modeling, control system design, and simulation infrastructure expertise
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or equivalent modeling and control toolchains
  • Understanding of classical control techniques and model verification and validation
  • Physics-based modeling and multi-domain simulation development experience
  • Ability to generate SysML diagrams
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

  • Develop models and control algorithms for propulsion, flight control, and guidance subsystems
  • Support system simulation architectures for design iteration, verification, and validation
  • Perform dynamic system studies and data analysis
  • Support control system topology definition and gain-tuning methodologies
  • Derive requirements and perform margin, trade, Monte Carlo, sensitivity, and parametric analyses
  • Apply physics-based modeling to mechanical, thermal, and aerodynamic subsystems
  • Collaborate with GNC, software, systems, and test teams
  • Author technical documentation and mentor less experienced engineers
