About the Role
You will work with suppliers to ensure they can deliver high-quality, scalable components. You will audit supplier sites, evaluate quality processes, approve FAI and PPAP documentation, resolve quality issues, improve manufacturing capabilities, and monitor supplier performance. You will also conduct root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, maintain compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and travel to supplier sites as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in supplier quality, supplier development, or industrialization within manufacturing
- Knowledge of CNC machining, casting, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, PCBA, cable harnesses, and actuators
- Hands-on experience with PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and 8D
- Willingness to travel globally to supplier sites up to 30%
Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier audits, quality assessments, and process inspections
- Develop processes to identify, contain, and resolve supplier quality issues
- Evaluate and approve First Article Inspections and Production Part Approval Processes
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and support production ramp-up
- Identify cost-effective solutions that improve supplier performance and reduce defects or delays
- Provide technical guidance on corrective actions and process improvements
- Ensure supplier compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor supplier environmental, safety, and operational compliance
- Liaise between suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical and operational challenges
- Track and report supplier performance metrics
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
