About the Role
You design, develop and deploy UEFI-based firmware for hyperscale AI server platforms. You implement platform initialization, hardware configuration, security and reliability features, integrate firmware into CI/CD pipelines, build telemetry and system management interfaces, collaborate with hardware and validation teams, and debug firmware and hardware issues in laboratory and production environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
- 8+ years of experience developing UEFI or BIOS firmware for server platforms
- Expertise with UEFI, TianoCore and firmware architecture design
- Experience developing firmware for hyperscale or cloud data center environments
- Strong C and C++ programming skills
- Understanding of DDR memory training, cache coherency protocols and PCIe subsystems
- Knowledge of server platform architecture, power delivery, thermal management, sensors and FRUs
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for firmware development
- Experience debugging system firmware with logic analyzers, JTAG and GDB
- Experience with ARM-based server platforms is desirable
- Experience with EDK II development and upstream contribution is desirable
- Experience working with ODM or JDM partners is desirable
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy UEFI-based firmware for hyperscale server platforms
- Collaborate with ODM partners from concept through mass production
- Integrate UEFI firmware into CI/CD pipelines
- Develop firmware for CPU, memory, PCIe and system interconnect initialization
- Implement root of trust, secure boot chains and signed firmware updates
- Develop platform features for reliability, availability and serviceability
- Build firmware interfaces for telemetry, firmware updates and system management
- Collaborate with hardware, BMC, security and validation teams
- Debug firmware and hardware issues across laboratory and production environments
- Perform root cause analysis
