About the Role
You will derive embedded technical safety requirements from vehicle-level safety concepts and allocate them across the embedded architecture. You will define hardware-software partitioning and interfaces, maintain traceability, apply automotive standards, and prepare verification and validation work through clear requirements and architecture.
Requirements
- BS or MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- At least 8 years of embedded-systems experience across hardware and software
- ISO 26262 system-design experience, including technical safety requirements, system architecture, and hardware-software allocation
- SOTIF, ISO/SAE 21434, UL 4600, Automotive SPICE, and AEC-Q10 familiarity
- Requirements management and traceability
- Polarion or similar requirements-management tooling
- Schematic reading
- Embedded C, C++, or Rust
- Verification and validation lifecycle knowledge
Responsibilities
- Translate vehicle-level safety concepts into embedded technical safety requirements
- Define the embedded system architecture and hardware-software partition
- Define hardware-software interfaces
- Maintain bidirectional requirements traceability
- Maintain safety-case work products
- Apply automotive standards to embedded design and documentation
- Partner with verification and validation efforts
- Support Development Interface Agreements with OEM partners and suppliers
