About the Role
You will lead the technical direction for the Lakebase Manager control plane. You will design and build database lifecycle services, improve reliability, define service objectives, conduct reviews, mentor engineers, and align cross-team initiatives.
Requirements
- 8+ years designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems
- Technical leadership experience as an individual contributor
- Experience designing systems and writing production code for distributed services
- Experience operating reliability-critical, highly available services
- Experience with testing, monitoring, SLIs, SLOs, on-call operations, incident response, and HA failover
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, or a similar systems language
- Computer Science or related degree
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and own the quality and reliability of delivered systems
- Drive architecture, design, and implementation of complex projects
- Set technical standards through architecture reviews and testing
- Mentor engineers and lead rigorous design and code reviews
- Define SLIs, meet SLOs, and improve database-lifecycle reliability
- Lead cross-team initiatives across the Lakebase stack
- Partner with engineering and product leadership on the technical roadmap
