About Sunscreen
Sunscreen develops FHE-based developer infrastructure, including the Parasol LLVM-based compiler, virtual processor, TFHE library, and Secure Processing Framework (SPF). These tools allow developers to write programs in mainstream languages, compile them for encrypted computation, and deploy them on-chain or in web2 environments. SPF provides capabilities such as threshold decryption, access control, off-chain storage, and blockchain event handling. Sunscreen's demos and materials focus on private voting, auctions, dark pools, private information retrieval, prediction markets, and other privacy-preserving applications for blockchain, fintech, healthcare, government, and enterprise use cases.

About the Role
Help define the engineering vision, design and develop core infrastructure for a new cryptographic system, contribute to compiler and zero-knowledge proof library work, advance cryptography expertise, present at conferences, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Significant backend engineering experience and/or proficiency in a systems programming language such as C or Rust
- Experience building products in traditional finance, specifically trading, or in DeFi
- Familiarity with linear algebra and discrete mathematics
- Interest in learning mathematics and cryptography
- Comfort with ambiguity and taking on a leadership role in engineering
- Interest in developing and mentoring engineers
- Interest in collaboration
