About the Role
You will own the architecture for scalable vehicle models and simulation. You will build high-fidelity vehicle dynamics models, define validation and robustness-testing frameworks, maintain C++ simulation platforms, investigate simulation issues, and guide verification strategies and technical direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 7+ years, or PhD with 3+ years
- Proficiency in C++, Python, ROS/ROS2, CMake, and Linux
- Background in physics-based ground-vehicle modeling, including vehicle dynamics, tire models, and powertrain
- Knowledge of autonomous-vehicle planning, controls, and system integration
- Experience defining statistical validation metrics and robustness-testing frameworks for safety-case claims
- Experience with unit, integration, and regression testing, automated validation pipelines, and simulation benchmarking
- Experience driving technical consensus across simulation, autonomy, controls, product, and safety teams
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical direction
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve scalable vehicle-modeling and simulation architecture
- Develop high-fidelity truck and vehicle-dynamics models
- Define statistical validation metrics supporting safety-case claims
- Design robustness-testing frameworks for autonomy software
- Develop and maintain closed-loop simulation platforms
- Capture vehicle-model requirements from autonomy engineering teams
- Maintain model capability communications and release notes
- Prevent regression of autonomy validation performance through automated frameworks
- Perform root-cause analysis for simulation and hardware-in-the-loop issues
- Define system-level test plans and verification strategies
- Mentor engineers and improve code quality and testing rigor
