About the Role

You will lead the technical direction for motion planning, trajectory generation, and optimization in unstructured environments. You will build and validate production C++ planning software, collaborate on safe vehicle behaviors, investigate system performance, and support vehicle integration and deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of industry experience, Master's degree with 7+ years, or PhD with 5+ years
• Experience as a Staff, Principal, or multi-team technical leader
• Expertise in robotics, autonomous vehicle, ADAS, or complex real-time software systems
• Expertise in modern C++ and Linux
• Experience with motion planning, trajectory generation, trajectory optimization, behavior planning, or decision-making systems
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, vehicle kinematics, linear algebra, numerical optimization, geometry, and robotics algorithms
• Experience with Git, build systems, package management, unit testing, and test automation
• U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain planning architecture across teams and platforms
• Lead technical initiatives and architecture reviews
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Design and optimize motion-planning, trajectory-generation, and behavior-planning algorithms
• Incorporate vehicle kinematic and dynamic constraints into planning systems
• Develop production C++ software in Linux
• Validate planning capabilities in SiL, HiL, and ViL environments
• Debug vehicle behavior through simulation, diagnostics, and log analysis
• Support vehicle integration, deployment, and post-deployment investigations
