About the Role
You will lead the development and delivery of autonomy capabilities for space applications. You will build optimization, scheduling, tasking, tracking, and motion-planning software; integrate it with real vehicles; support deployment and mission-log analysis; prototype new algorithms; and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent practical experience
- At least 7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 6 years with a master's degree, or 4 years with a PhD
- C++ and Python proficiency
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems
- Background in control systems, motion planning, optimization, tactical behaviors, or distributed decision-making
- Experience with unmanned system technologies and algorithms
- Experience with simulation tools such as AFSIM or NGTS
- System performance troubleshooting and optimization skills
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance or higher
Responsibilities
- Develop distributed optimization, task allocation, and resource-scheduling capabilities
- Develop weapons target-assignment and motion-planning capabilities
- Advance optimal control, tactical behavior management, and information-aware planning
- Develop high-performance, well-tested software modules
- Collaborate with perception, planning, simulation, hardware, and flight-test functions
- Deploy autonomy capabilities to space vehicles and analyze mission logs
- Research and prototype algorithms for autonomy roadmaps
- Travel to offices, customer sites, and flight integration events
