About the Role
Provide technical leadership for designing, integrating, validating, and deploying robotic automation systems for data center operations. Align engineering and partner teams, guide technical work, establish verification processes, troubleshoot software and hardware systems, develop robotic subsystems and infrastructure, transition R&D concepts into production, evaluate technologies, and document engineering decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in automation or equipment engineering focused on mechatronic subsystems and modular machine design
- Experience taking robotic or automated systems from prototype or R&D into production or field deployment
- Experience with material handling systems, automated equipment, or productionized robotic solutions
- Familiarity with 3D localization or VLM-based object detection
- Experience conducting FAT/SAT validation and managing technical deliverables
- Ability to debug PLC logic, C# or Python code, and mechanical and electrical hardware
- Experience with ROS, ROS 2, and IsaacSIM
- Strong understanding of perception, localization, mapping, planning, and control
- Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience applying machine learning or AI techniques within robotics systems
- Experience with simulation environments and digital twin technologies
- Knowledge of computer vision, sensor fusion, or reinforcement learning
- Experience deploying robotics applications to cloud, edge, or embedded environments
Responsibilities
- Define technical direction for ambiguous robotics automation problems
- Align robotics, data center, engineering, partner, and third-party teams
- Guide and mentor engineers and partners
- Plan, estimate, and deliver project milestones
- Establish and execute verification and validation processes
- Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis across software, controls, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Iterate on end effectors, hardware interfaces, and robotic subsystems
- Build software infrastructure, device management systems, and fleet coordination protocols
- Lead the transition of R&D studies into production-ready integrated systems
- Evaluate technologies, tools, and methodologies
- Document engineering decisions and communicate them to stakeholders
