About the Role

Design and maintain structured data storage across R&D tools, integrate experimental, manufacturing, and QC data, build analysis and visualization tools, maintain data-acquisition software, perform statistical analyses, and partner with scientists and engineers on reliable data workflows.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in engineering, physical science, computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with data in a hardware, laboratory, or physical-science R&D environment.
  • Strength across data acquisition, infrastructure, pipelines, visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • Track record establishing or improving data storage and analysis infrastructure.
  • Expert SQL and Python proficiency, including pandas/NumPy, query optimization, and schema design.
  • Experience with time-series and sensor data, including alignment, gap-filling, and schema reconciliation.
  • Statistical and regression analysis experience with experimental data.
  • Proficiency with at least one DAQ platform such as LabVIEW, DAQ Factory, or Ignition.
  • Fluency using AI coding assistants with judgment to validate generated output.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as the senior-most data professional.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain structured data storage across R&D tools.
  • Build analysis and visualization tools for R&D and pilot experiments.
  • Program and maintain data-acquisition software for laboratory and pilot equipment.
  • Run statistical and regression analyses connecting manufacturing, QC, and experimental data.
  • Partner with scientists and engineers to translate data needs into tools and workflows.
  • Help maintain IT infrastructure supporting R&D data systems.
