About the Role
You will lead efforts to evolve a high-traffic PoS network by designing and prototyping long-term protocol solutions to reduce latency control state growth and improve scalability. You will set architectural direction across the codebase diagnose and resolve deep protocol consensus and state sync issues and contribute to Geth Cosmos SDK or CometBFT-based systems. You will champion code quality testing and documentation mentor engineers and collaborate with protocol researchers DevOps security and ecosystem teams to ship robust upgrades to the live network.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend or protocol engineering experience with 2+ years in senior or staff-level roles
- Deep experience in Go within distributed systems consensus or blockchain infrastructure
- Experience contributing to or working with Ethereum clients such as Geth or Cosmos-based stacks like Cosmos SDK and CometBFT
- Proven ability to lead architecture design code quality and complex system design
- Comfortable working asynchronously with distributed teams across EMEA and US East Coast time zones
- Previous contributions to public blockchain protocols or open-source infrastructure
- Familiarity with performance optimization tools and techniques for large-scale systems
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly across varied stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Lead design and prototyping of long-term solutions to address scalability latency and state growth on the Polygon PoS network
- Drive architectural decisions across the PoS codebase including Geth Cosmos SDK and CometBFT-based systems
- Identify and resolve deep technical issues in protocol behavior consensus and state sync
- Champion code quality documentation testing and developer best practices
- Mentor and support engineers across the stack to elevate engineering standards
- Collaborate with protocol researchers DevOps security and ecosystem teams to ship upgrades to the live network
