About the Role

You will lead the development of an internal photonic process design kit. You will build and maintain Python-based layout libraries, create compact behavioral models, automate parameter extraction from electromagnetic solvers, correlate models with lab measurements, and implement verification workflows for PDK updates.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience or PhD with 3+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or a related field
• Deep understanding of photonic device physics and device simulation
• Experience building behavioral models for circuit simulators
• Experience using Python for modeling, automation, and data analysis
• Object-oriented programming experience with NumPy and SciPy
• Python-based layout experience
• Capacity to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control laws

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a library of pcells using Python-based layout frameworks
• Synchronize physical layouts, logical netlists, and behavioral models
• Create and verify behavioral compact models for passive and active devices
• Build automated workflows to extract electromagnetic-solver parameters for circuit-level simulation
• Validate simulation models against lab measurements using data fitting and statistical analysis
• Implement regression testing and continuous integration pipelines for PDK updates
• Own netlist-extraction logic and connectivity-graph accuracy
