About the Role

You will develop and maintain an internal photonics process design kit. You will build component libraries and compact models, synchronize layouts, netlists, and behavioral models, validate models against silicon measurements, automate verification, and collaborate on photonic tape-outs.

Requirements

• Have a Master's degree with 5 years of experience or a PhD with 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or a related field
• Understand photonic device physics and device simulation
• Have experience building behavioral models for circuit simulators
• Have Python experience in modeling, automation, and data analysis
• Be comfortable with object-oriented programming, NumPy, and SciPy
• Have Python-based layout experience
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills for problems without obvious solutions
• Have capacity to comply with U.S. export control requirements

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a library of parametric cells using Python-based frameworks
• Synchronize physical layouts, logical netlists, and behavioral models
• Create and verify physics-based behavioral models for passive and active devices
• Design test structures and test plans for device figure-of-merit extraction
• Validate models against lab measurements through data fitting and statistical analysis
• Implement regression testing and continuous integration pipelines for PDK updates
• Collaborate with design, analog, digital, and architecture engineers on tape-outs
