About the Role
You will design, validate, debug, and release custom PCB assemblies and electrical subsystems. You will lead risk mitigation, failure analysis, testing, thermal and power validation, ISO 26262 methods, and cross-functional design decisions with software, mechanical, manufacturing, and supplier partners.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree, or equivalent experience, in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering
- 10+ years of hardware development experience
- 10+ years of experience with PCBAs, high-speed PCB design, harnesses, power distribution units, power supplies, and automotive subcomponents
- Understanding of failure analysis
- Knowledge of mixed analog and digital circuits
- Experience debugging I2C, CAN, SPI, and Ethernet hardware buses
- Experience with PCIe and DDR high-speed communication
- Experience writing detailed technical documentation
- Knowledge of automotive safety standards
Responsibilities
- Design and validate custom PCBA electronics
- Perform schematic and layout design for analog and digital PCBs
- Mitigate risks and document designs
- Debug and bring up PCBs in complex systems
- Own the PCB design lifecycle, including reviews, simulation, testing, documentation, and release
- Improve validation test methodologies and procedures
- Drive DFMEA analysis and cross-functional design trade-off discussions
- Lead root-cause analysis and resolve electrical-system issues
- Define stress-test routines
- Validate circuit thermal and power performance
- Implement ISO 26262 methodologies to meet ASIL goals
- Work with software, mechanical, manufacturing, and supplier partners
